I am so done with my Christmas shopping for this year. My card cannot take anymore swiping. At all. And I banned myself from shopping malls until the end of the year too! Haha, wish me luck on this ordeal. So for now, I content myself at coolecting circuit city coupons 2012 online for future use. I know I know, its early but I'm sure these coupons will be put to good use, soon.

Thanksgiving Sale

Back from Singapore

I just got back from a very fun trip to Singapore. I was with my whole family - Jon, the kids, my parents and sibs. We stayed in Festive Hotel at Resorts World for easy access to Universal Studios Singapore and a night at Marina Bay Sands. Weather was good while we were there. Although, it would sometimes rain, it was all great. We got to go to places we wanted to go and was able to shop a little. I was even able to get the mens wedding ring my cousin has ordered. Fun fun fun trip. Photos to follow :)

Its a lazy Saturday so far but upon opening and checking my emails, some work has been waiting for me. Ugh! A few emails to be sent and some rv travel emergency calls to make. i hope I get to finish in time for lunch so I can take out the kids and do Fun Ranch. I promised to treat them today and they sure are looking forward to it. If the weather permits, we can go swimming in the afternoon too and make my Saturday fun fun fun!

Woke up early today to finish some pending tasks online. Topping my list of to do's is to finally sit and read up on Wholesaleinsurance.net to be able to decide on what type of insureance to get. I have been meaning to get one for me for the longest time now you see. I just don't know what kind. Hopefully today I finally resolve that. I also plan to return tons of email on my inbox. Last week, it was my little boy's first Linggo ng Wika" stint ever and the doting mom that I am, I had to document it of course. I had carefully thought of his costume too and had it made because I couldn't find anything in the mall that I liked. I actually spent the whole looking for his costume while I bought an Epson TM-T88V for hubby's office but I went home empty handed. Ending, custom made costume :)

Apparently, dear brother needs basketball ankle brace. :( He tripped during the last game I think and since then, pain persisted so he was brought to the doctor. Oh well, I guess this is better. After I helped my cousin look for the best Houston Truck Accident Attorney, now I finally have time to blog about my recent trip with the husband sans the kids. Yes, its the first time we traveled out of the country without the kids in tow. We would love to take them but flight is too long for them I think and I'm quite sure they won't enjoy the places we are going to...yet.

First stop - Copenhagen and Kolding. This was a business trip for the husband actually but we were able to explore a little bit. And we loved this small country with only 5 million people.

Second stop - Paris. The Ciy of Lights. Who wouldn't fall in love with this beautiful city with its equally beautiful people?

Last stop - Rome. I simply love the antiquity and grandeur of the Roman World.

I would have wanted to join my girlfriends today watching the "Something Borrowed" movie but since my family from Pampanga are coming over for a visit, I can't. It's actually my family's first time to visit us in our new house we are renting. Since we moved last month, they haven't been here yet. My mom is also excited to see the construction of the new house which is at 95% completion already. I really hope we can move in by end of June. EXCITED!!!!

Anyway, we plan to eat lunch out and probably dinner too. I want to take them to Little Souls Convent in Tagaytay too for mass. Then I think we need to go to Paranaque beacuse my sister will get her sales jobs commission. Will that mean she'll treat us for lunch or dinner?? Haha.

My daughter will be in grade 1 soon and I'm in denial. I can't believe how big she has grown! Yesterday while I was in school buying her textbooks, school supplies and school uniform, it finally sunk in, I have a gradeschooler! And there's no denying that fact. Classes will open June 13 and I can't wait to see how another milestone will unfold right before me. Worried yet excited, that's what I feel. Who's afraid of age spots? Or should the question be, who's not afraid of age spots, right? I'm sure we all would want to avoid age spots and we should. Right now, the simplest way to avoid it is to apply sunblock everyday as per what I read online. I used to neglect putting sunblock but now that I am getting older already, I am determined to start taking care of my skin more. So far, I'm using VMV's Armada. How about you?

The thought of moving to the new house is beyond exciting. But there is so much more to do and buy! I'm feeling overwhelmed. But its nice to be busy about these stuff and not something else :) Right now, I am into scoring pieces of furniture here and here. I just got back from a baptism party and reception with a terrible headache. While I so loved the Chinese food they served - crabs, prawns, abalone, pecking duck etc., I can't take the second hand smoke from the nearby table. Yes, I get it, they were smoking don tomas and all. But it was an air conditioned room for petes sake. They didn't have the decency to step put and do their thing. Sad. I've accomplished so much today. Hurray for me! First off, I was able to enroll Sophia already. I registered online right before I went to school and voila, once I was there, all I needed to do was pay. Right after paying, I went to Asian Hospital to get the ultrasound results of the husband. While I was there I saw my OB who was in acl knee brace after meeting an accident while driving. We chatted for a while and I was reminded that I need to visit her some time soon for my cervical cancer vaccine, my third and last shot. I went to ATC after to buy a birthday gift for the party we are attending tomorrow. Was also able to do some bank errands and meet with our window supplier after. Productive day it is indeed!

house construction update

Okay, house construction is getting exciting each week. Our weekly meetings with our architect and interior designer are proving to be more fruitful and interesting each time. Agenda last week was home theater and pipe in music installation. I was not keen of having such features in the house but the husband seems to be really interested. So now we are awaiting for the quotations from both suppliers present last week and another one who is going to supply the home speakers and I'm hoping for a reasonable price or else my budget for the furniture I am about to order will suffer for sure.

The husband had his executive check up at Asian Hospital last Saturday and as we both predicted, his cholesterol test results are bad. Now he is serious again with dieting and I hope this will last this time around. We consulted a nutritionist and according to her there are a few crash diets that work but not for everybody so she wasn't really going to recommend such for the husband. Now we have a low fat menu planned for a week and with much needed exercise aleast one hour a day, I hope the husband is on his way to a healthy him. *crossing fingers*

I woke up to see my laptop's H and J keys broken (read falling off!). The culprit is my five year old little girl. According to her "it was an accident, mom". A little after breakfast, I found out that the driver is calling in sick today so I can't go to the travel expo at SMX. Bad. And then to top it off, after taking both kids to school, here I am about to do marathon blogging only to find out that both our PC and spare laptop's monitors are blinking non stop! WTH?!?!

For New Year's Eve, just like how we spent our Christmas Eve, we were at Marriott Hotel again. I love this hotel. The rooms are very spacious and bathrooms are very nice. Not to mention, the hotel is spanking new. Food at Marriott Cafe is good too. I love how fresh their lobsters are. The hotel is also connected to Resorts World and there's just plenty of stuff to do there. I heard they'll be building a big Timezone or something like it for kids right up on the top floor. Pnce they do, my eldest would go gaga. I hope they have those karaoke machine cubicles too. My eldest will make "birit" for sure. Here's us New Year's Eve inside the Marriott elevator.

The thought of moving in to our new house is exciting. As of writing this, Jon and I are preparing for our site meeting with our architect and interior designer in a while. We are to choose tiles today and decide on the garage door opener we will be using. We are in the finishing stage already and I cant wait that we pass over this stage as this is the most expensive phase, lol.

Sometime last month, we attended a party in Batangas and I'm glad we decided to go even if it was a long two and a half hour drive away from home. The kids had a blast! There were a lot of activities prepared for the kids and my eldest had the grandest time at the princess salon too. Colored hair spray and glitters on her hair, so cute! I just hope they are not reasons for hair loss though, lol.

Last week, for a quick getaway, the whole family trooped to Hong Kong. Four days well spent I must say. The kids had so much fun! Weather wasn't as cold as I wanted it though but nevertheless, cold still, if compared to our weather here. Now we can't wait to go back come January with my family. I'm sure we'll have a blast again. I'm hoping for a colder weather this time around though.

I love Christmas shopping, but, even more than the love I have for Christmas shopping, is the love I have of finding good deals. Sometimes, my daughters and I go scouting the stores the day after Christmas to see what deals we can find. I also like shopping on other holiday sale days like President's Day sales, Labor Day sales and 4th of July sales.

The thing about catching a sale is the quality of the merchandise. I quickly learned that a pair of brand new jeans that cost $ 5.99 are actually worth just that, which means they don’t last long. This year my goal is not only to look for sales but the priority will be the quality of the merchandise.

I recently came across this amazing website when I was in search of some shoes for my family and saw the most amazing UGG slippers. They had a brown sole, the top part of the shoe was egg shelled colored with fur around the middle of the shoe.

I continued through the site and saw some shoes for every member of my family. My sixteen-year-old son will love the Nike Air Affect III Leather shoes they have and my daughter will flip when she sees the clogs they have on display. I noticed that they also have some items that are eco-friendly, which is very important to me since I have increased my awareness of efforts to save the environment.

My issue is the fact that I have wide feet. The shoes that are usually available in most stores are the ones no one wants, but here their wide selections of shoes are very attractive. I guess this place is first on my list for Christmas gifts to my family and to myself.

Mommy, Tell Me a Story.

How many of your favorite children's stories can you remember? Do you have at least part of a Dr. Seuss book memorized? Do you feel warm inside when someone starts telling the story of Briar Rabbit, or the Three Little Pigs? Stories have an amazing impact on people. It's not just part of our culture — it's part of who we, as humans. So, next time your child turns to you and asks you to tell them a story, what will you say?

Your answer better start with an "of course." There are a lot of positive effects of telling stories, not the least of which is your bonding experience with your child. However, you should also keep in mind that linguistic development, a foundation for values, and interpersonal skills are all furthered by storytelling.

What sort of story, then, should you tell? In truth, the subject shouldn't be your primary concern. You can tell a story about a Unicorn who wants to find where the strawberries have been taken, a Prince who tries to return the Princess's golden bonnet, or a man who gets sucked into the mystical realm of an online casino.

Look past the subject. Tell your story with expressiveness. Don't merely talk in a monotone voice. Give the characters voice, use vocal inflection as you talk, and experiment with volume. Don't be afraid to experiment with strange noises. Growl when you talk about the monster that's coming, whistle when you talk about the birds overhead, and otherwise enrich your story with sound.

Sound isn't your only tool, however. If you're trying to get your child involved, use sweeping body movements (don't be afraid to jump up if it suits the story!) or props, and have them interact with the tale — such as by clapping to revive a fairy, coming up with the names of characters, or showing you how the monster growls.

I am a stay-at-home-mom to my adorable three-year-old daughter who is the light of my life. Before I became a mom, life was very simple with me and my husband. Both my husband and I worked our nine-to-five jobs, Monday through Friday. When I came home from work I’d make both of us dinner, we might watch a video, or some nights stay up talking past midnight.

These days my life is much busier and I absolutely love it. My day starts at around 6:00 a.m., as my daughter is an early riser, so I get her up and dressed and I start on her breakfast. She loves to hear music while she eats so we listen to some of her favorite songs as sometimes we actually join in.

The other day my husband made a request that was very unnerving to me. He feels that it is time for us to go away for a weekend together, just the two of us. He said his mother would watch our daughter and everything would be alright. Don’t get me wrong my mother-in-law is a fabulous lady, and I know my daughter would be fine with her, but I will just miss her so much.

Yesterday my husband had a heart-to-heart with me regarding my apprehension and said we needed to start having fun again together. He looked deeply into my eyes and said he needed this time alone with me to reconnect and maybe on our next outing all three of us could go together. My husband still has the ability to make me melt with his words, but the next thing took me by surprise. He reached in his pocket, pulled out a velvet box and inside was the most amazing piece of Roberto Coin jewelry I've ever seen.

After all these years he still awes me. We leave for our vacation next week.

My kids love visiting their angkong's and ama's place in Laguna. They love feeding the roosters can you believe it? I remember when I was a kid, I would hardly go near one because I saw how one pecked on my grandfather's finger one time. And it bled of course. Since then, I was afraid of roosters. My kids on the other hand, only has fond memories of roosters so they love them. They would even touch the feathers!

My eldest is busy practicing for their Literary program in school this coming Friday. She'll be singing Lea Salonga's "Someone's Waiting For You" with a classmate and will be a doll, I think, for the play. She is soo excited! I bought her a nice dress from Rustans, pink of course and the shoes, oh the shoes we had to go to three malls to finally find a pair! Now she's all ready. And so am I, the doting mom. :).

i need a new router

I am here at Mary Grace Cafe blogging and doing some online task while having Vigan longganisa and grilled cheese bread for breakfast because our Tenda router at the condo is busted. Now I need a new one and as per a freind's recommendation, I just might settle for a Linksys router this time. It is said to be more durable and easy to use. For a blogging mommy like me who needs to be online at most times, wifi at home is a must. Its precious! In fact, to any mommy who has kids who go to school, internet access is a must. Just like today, of all the days our router can be broken, it has to be on the day that I have to download animal photos for my two year old kid for his school assignment. Bummer, right? Major!

I've been shopping non stop for gifts lately and so far, I am halfway through my list. And its not even December, wee! It's such a feat for me for I am known to love cramming, haha. But this year, I started with my Christmas shopping really early and it has done me god so far. And because I amway ahead of my shopping schedule, I can even find time to shop for myself now. Been looking at nice casual dresses on sale the other day and I wanted to hoard. It's not often that I find casual dresses I like anyway at such practical price tags. I just hope They still have available sizes for me so I'll be a happy camper too like my friends and relatives who'll be receiving gifts from me this Christmas. ;)

I was one proud mommy when my almost two year old son joined their class performance last Halloween at school and stood on stage on his own. Knowing his shy and very timid personality, I was quite shocked but was very happy of course. Who wouldn't, right? After all, he was too cute in his costume not to participate, haha! All the kids were all so cute in their costumes actually and they were al such a site to see. Look!

I have tons of photos actually but I need to sort and download first from my digital camera. In the meantime, I need to look for a holter system online first. Any leads?

Its her current fave so no wonder for her Halloween Party in school, she wanted to come in a Barbie Musketeer costume. And she did of course. For our trip to Bora last month, I was very happy that I got to lose a few pounds thanks to running and my secret best fat burner pill I purchased online. I got the pills just in time for the trip! Unang Hirit stint

Jon's new farm was featured at channel 7's Unang Hirit last week. It was such an impromptu thing so the husband dragged me to the farm on the day of the shoot with him. I was up at 3am, good Lord! I can't help but snooze while on the way to the farm which was like an hour and a half drive away. When we got there, there were 3 GMA crew vans (Is that what they're called?) and around 10 vans! What are all these people doing at the farm I thought. All they needed to shoot were these cute little pigs! LOL. It was a fun experience though. I was able to do some online work while I was waiting for the shoot to finish. I even got to read up on diet pills for women my mom is taking. After the shoot, Jon and I went back home instantly to take the kids to their respective classes. It was one busy day.

Its October tomorrow already and as cliche as it may sound, time does fly! Its almost Christmas season once again so I need to start making my gift list as early as now. I don't want to cram this time around you know. I've done that in the past and the result wasn't pretty. I ended up getting generic gifts that were obviously un-thought of. Bad.

This year, I want to give out something different and not the usual shirt of perfume. Was browsing online the other day and I saw the nursing scrubs on sale. They are very nice and such great buys for their price. I am thinking of getting a few sets to give out to my nurse friends for Christmas. Don't you think they'll make lovely gifts? I do! Now that I think of it, I might even get a doctors scrubs for my OB cousin. I'm sure she'll love the dainty print I'll be getting for her. The scrubs look like they are really made of quality materials so I'm pretty sure whoever gets them as a present will be delighted. Spent my whole afternoon at Shang Mall yesterday while I wait for the driver who drove my mom to Pampanga. Was able to go around and what else? SHOP! Went home broke again after spending an hour inside Zara. They have so much cute stuff for the kids! Now that I have two, my bill doubles too! But I just can't resist the dresses for Sophia and cute tees for Mateo. Since I bought so much, will be avoiding entering Zara store for a month or two, lol. After my shopping spree at Zara, went to National Bookstore to get some books for the kids and buy Sophia's colored popsicle sticks she needs in school. Bought organic tea tree oil also from Rustans and I got Sophia a pair of shoes from Payless which I now have to have changed because they don't fit. Good thing I can have them changed at any branch so Festival Mall branch I am trooping later. Its a three minute drive away. :)

Take a look at some of Sophia's work during their SK Art Exhibit held some two weeks ago. I am one proud mommy of course ....

It was a great idea to showcase the students' artworks. Personally, I felt really proud and was very happy to see my kid's work showcased. I'm sure every other parent feels the same way. It was also a great opportunity to meet and get to know other parents. In our table, the mommies really hit it off and practically talked about anything, even those weight loss dietary supplement! :D

I'm looking forward to more parent activities like this.

I am left alone with the kids for four days. The husband is leaving for Brisbane tonight.

My mom will come and visit tomorrow though and will sleep over so I'm excited as well as the kids.

I can't wait to go to Powerplant on Wednesday to have the stuff I bought for Sophia at ZARA changed.

The husband vows to go on a strict diet when he comes back from OZ on Thursday. He even told me to buy weight loss supplements already. I hope he succeeds. He is way overweight!

Sophia is scheduled to have her entrance exam for Grade 1. I'm both thrilled and nervous.

Last week, I spent most of my days searching for the perfect outfit to wear at my daughter's Mother's Day Celebration in school. Theme was 80's so colorful outfits came to mind. I googled for ideas and I even scored some vintage t shirts while doing so. Anyway, I had big plans on going really 80's but come the day, I only managed to wear the simplest one I can pull of - bright colored leggings and off shoulder blouse with bright colored tank top inside. Dyahe eh. :P

Five months into our house construction, trusses are being put up this week. Our future home is looking more and more like our dream home already and Jon and I are beyond ecstatic. So far, we are very happy with our chosen Architect and his team. Right now, we are in the process of purchasing bathroom fixtures and awarding roof and window contracts. Among the three, I am excited over the bathroom fixtures shopping of course. We've been to Kuysen Warehouse and Dexterton Warehouse and so far, we are settled with Hansgrohe for the faucets, shower sets (but will have to consider Moen kitchen faucet as per a friend) while we'll have a mix of Duravit and Kohler for our water closets.

I really can't wait for May.

Finally, after procrastinating for days now, I got to book our hotel and land arrangements for our December trip with Jon's family. Thank you to my trusted travel agent for all I needed to do was give her a call. Now, Parklane Hotel at Causeway Bay and Disneyland Hotel booked! Easy as pie. Off to my next to do list now - book January trip with my family and order the merrell shoes for my brothers. In 3, 2, 1 ...... :D

The kids are growing up FAST - right before my very eyes. They have been liking same things too. Away-bati also most of the time. At the end of the day though, you'll see them together in bed after all the disagreements - priceless!

Lately, I don't have much time shopping for them so I just order online for both. Got Mateo shirts and shorts of course while Sophia's loot contains mostly dresses. She wanted to have snow boots would you believe? Didn't get one of course. We don't have winter where we are from. Is that bad or a good thing?

Powerbooks is on sale so my eldest and I bought some books right after her class. Got 5 storybooks for the kids all at 20% off and I also got some home magazines where I saw some really nice contemporary coffee tables. Now I can't wait for our house construction to finish so we can start furnishing it. I have so many ideas right now. I just hope budget would permit. :D

Anyway, we went home happy. Books at 20% off? Love it!

on losing hair

I have free time since both kids are asleep so I am reading on what causes hair loss. You see, it runs in our family so I want to be prepared as early as now. OA as it may sound but seeing my uncles and aunties losing their crown of glory is something very unpleasant! Its actually scary in a way. Since I have been seriously lacking sleep for a week now because I am nursing a sick son, I am now having really bad acne breakout that I think its high time to already seek professional adult acne treatments. Sadly, my old and trusted creams are not working anymore. Huhu. Only consolation to an acne infected mom like? My son is now all well and back to his old self again. Yehey! Has reading a book ever changed your life? Which one and why, if yes?

I'd have to say "The Alchemist". I love this book and it has thought me a lot things that to this very day I treasure and still continue to learn from.

Name one book you had to read but hated, and explain why you hated it.

Hmmm. I'd say "Dear John". For some reason, I didn't like it. Although I loved the movie because of Channing Tatum.

If you could pick a book you’ve read to make into a movie, which one would you choose?

It's Thursday, already? Days this week have passed by so quickly. Been extra busy with so much its actually overwhelming. Taking two kids to school alternately is such a time consuming and tiring task. I kid you not. Both have different schedules you see so I practically am on the road for most of the day. In between, I also meet with suppliers and makes sure to check out our house construction as the husband is way busier and is leaving for Australia again this week. Not that I am complaining though. Lovin' my life and everything. :D In fact, what i even love more is because I am so busy and tired most of the time lately I lost quite a lot of weight as per my mom. I guess no need for nuphedragen anymore. :)

7. KFC. Yes, I missed eating at KFC! lol

Yes, I have two new babies! And I am so happy to have them. They are the newest addition to my growing family, hihi. And so, with having them, I can officially claim that I am now a Balenciaga convert. Bigtime. Love love love! I am so done with LV that I am actually thinking of selling my LVs haha. But for sentimental reasons and for my daughter's sake who as early as now tells me that my bags will all be hers when she grows up, I won't. Met the ladies last Sunday at Conti's Greenbelt and we had so much fun! It was really nice seeing and chatting with them again. Our kids were as loud, if not louder, haha. Her growing collection has n space in her room though which is why I once asked her if she wants to sell used books but she replied with a quick NO. Fine.
